In the Beginning.......

We started by asking questions, lots and lots of questions to everyone in the homeschool community. Joined every Facebook group, mostly in Nevada, that we could possibly find. Looked at different curriculums and figured out what would work best with our schedules.

We decided to use Power Homeschool or Acellus. It was a little difficult to use at first, but once we got started it was very easy to use. The kids love the freedom to be able to work at their own pace and the extra classes they could sign up for. We love that we can monitor them as they work. There are videos, quizzes, exams and finals which makes it easy to see their progress. The program also allows us to set goals each week. (Powerhouse is $25 per child monthly, up to 7 courses)

We also use Outschool, which is great for almost anything you are looking for. We mostly use it for art, music and foreign language, but also use it for any subjects the kids are having difficulty with. Their favorite is getting to take a history and art class for the holidays to learn information and details for each one. (Outschool ranges depending on the class)
